    OFJCC Palo Alto JCCOur weekly Jewish learning series, "Judaism: The New Basics" returns! All classes are from 7:00–8:15 PM on Zoom.

    Shabbat is one of the foundational, fundamental and formative aspects of Jewish life—but how much do we really know about Shabbat?

    This eight-part series about Shabbat will present an extended investigation of Shabbat, including its origins, its themes, its iterations and its meaning. This is a great class for those who are curious about Shabbat and interested in figuring out why Shabbat is so important to Jewish life. It is also a great class for those who have already experienced Shabbat and are ready to find out more about its themes. And this is a great class for those who love Shabbat and are eager to expand their understanding of Shabbat's impact on Jewish life.

    The series is facilitated by Tova Birnbaum and Zoe Fertik and will feature guest speakers. Each class in the series will cover a new topic; as such, you are welcome to enroll in the whole course or to sign up for any individual class that interests you.
