Our preschool ballet class is a great class for students in preschool and transitional kindergarten. Each class begins with a warm up and stretching appropriately geared for each age group. During class, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of classical ballet and explore contemporary movement. Students will learn and practice basic ballet terminology such as marching, trots, plié, tendu, chassé, retire and more! All of these exercises are practiced in a safe and fun environment. Through the practice, participants will develop and enhance their coordination and gross motor skills.
Improvisation will be encouraged to enhance the child's imagination and self-expression. Children will learn ballet stories and the music that accompanies the ballet. The class will enhance the child's creativity, coordination, balance, posture, rhythm, musicality and self-confidence, and nurture a great appreciation for the art of dance.
At the end of the session the class will have a small presentation for friends and family. Every session will focus on a different ballet style. This session's focus will be on ballet and tap dance!
