    When: Wednesday, 2/1/2023 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM

    Where: Off Campus

OFJCC Palo Alto JCCThe Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies was established in 1983, devoted to the life, works and accomplishments of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).  The center houses the largest collection of Beethoven materials outside of Europe. There is a research library, museum, manuscripts and first editions. Several historic keyboards will be demonstrated. It also has a lock of Beethoven's hair!

The Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies was founded in 1973. This center houses the largest John Steinbeck collection in the world. With over 40,000 items, you will find manuscripts, original letters, first editions, 1400 photographs and film.

Our group will have a private docent tour at the Beethoven Center and the Steinbeck Studies Center. Both are located on the 5th floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Library, part of San Jose State University.

COVID Safety Protocols: Currently there is no required proof of vaccination. The safety protocols are subject to change and will be updated as needed.

This excursion is offered at a greatly reduced price due to the generous support from the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund. Senior Programs are made possible in part by generous contributions from the John R. Schwabacher Family. We are grateful for the generous support of all of our donors.
