The goal of the class is to give you the knowledge and self-confidence to take care of your newborn once you get out of the hospital. The small group size allows expecting parents to discuss their individual needs and have their questions answered.
Though most of this journey will be guided by intuition and love, basic knowledge of your baby's needs will help ensure a smooth adjustment for both of you.
Topics include:
- What newborns look like
- Why they cry and how to soothe them
- The physiology of their sleep and how to help them fall asleep
- How to bathe, dress and change a newborn
- How to make sure your home and baby equipment are safe
- What to buy for your baby
- When to call the pediatrician or 911
