Join us during this time for personal reflection and spiritual preparation for the New Year.
We are entering the Hebrew month of Elul, the month before the High Holidays. Elul is a month that functions as a "doorstep"—it is our time to stand at the entrance of the holiday season. Elul is a month-long deep breath. It is a way of gearing up for the season to come.
As we see our mission at the OFJCC as "opening doors," we invite you to stand at the doorstep with us this Elul. We are opening many doors this month—doors to Torah, to singing, to community bonding, to our own hearts and to the approaching holidays. We especially want to invite you to our Introduction to Jewish Learning, which is an opportunity to explore Jewish text and learn about Yom Kippur in the Jewish sources. This course can be a doorway for you to many future Jewish learning programs we are planning this year.
