Introducing a new program at the Oshman Family JCC: Atid, an Israeli Scouting Experience for American Jewish Youth
Atid* is the first English language track of Tzofim Israeli Scouts, Israel's most popular youth movement beloved by over 85,000 active members worldwide.
Looking for a place to learn or practice your leadership skills? Want a way to connect to Israel in a creative and meaningful way? Looking for friends and memories that will last a lifetime? Well, Atid is the place for you! Join us for a camp-like experience every Sunday.
We are a non-political, pluralistic, non-religious, co-ed program led by professionally trained local teens. We base our activities on the four main pillars of Social Responsibility, Life Skills, Israeli-Jewish Life and Culture and Scouting.
This year, we will also feature a weekend sleep-away Winter Camp! Join us for two days full of bonding, wilderness education and memories that will last a lifetime.
Participants meet on Sundays, for enriching activities ranging from camping and sports to music and crafts, often with an Israeli twist—some Hebrew, some hummus, some history on the side. Our Scouts are connected to a worldwide movement and can become counselors when they reach 9th grade.
Leadership Group, Grades 8–11
Our Leadership Group meets once a week with a seasoned scout from Israel, to go on a unique journey fusing the social and fun aspects of camp with the honing of leadership skills like public speaking, managing projects, teamwork and creative thinking.
After one year of training and acting as guest counselors, teens become counselors for the younger participants.
Atid counts for service hours at most schools. Participation in this revered international leadership program makes a strong addition to resumes and college applications.
