    Sukkot Shabbat Dinner

    When: Friday, 10/21/2016 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Where: Jessica Lynn Saal Town Square

Join us in our community Sukkah for a festive Shabbat dinner celebration, with music from exceptional Jewish musicians Jeremiah Lockwood and Jewlia Eisenberg.

Sukkot and Shabbat are times to come together with family and sit in the Sukkah, connecting with nature and each other as we express gratitude for the good things in our lives.

We'll have a delicious meal and hear the songs of Jeremiah Lockwood, from the New York band The Sway Machinery, and Jewlia Eisenberg, founder and bandleader of Charming Hostess. Together they are The Book of J, blending blues, gospel and Jewish music to make your Sukkot Shabbat extra special.

Jeremiah Lockwood is a scholar and a storyteller; a singer, instrumentalist and composer with an expansive knowledge of musical traditions and techniques that stretch from The Carolinas to West Africa to the synagogues of his youth, possessing knowledge of hundreds of traditional and original songs from around the world.

Jewlia Eisenberg is a composer, extended-technique vocalist, lay cantor and the founder of Charming Hostess. She is interested in the particular emotional and spiritual terrains that the voice can traverse. Brooklyn-born and bred, she now calls San Francisco home.
