LEAP is an internship program for Bay Area 18-year-olds based on the values of Learning, Experience, Action, Peoplehood.
Given the new realities of the upcoming months, the OFJCC and BINA: The Jewish Movement for Social Change have teamed up to offer meaningful social action and learning opportunities for high school graduates.
LEAP is an opportunity to deepen your Jewish identity through an internship at the Oshman Family JCC In Palo Alto. The internship consists of Jewish learning, social action projects and community building. All LEAP programming will operate within the guidelines of local health advisories.
Spend three months seriously studying Jewish texts with distinguished Jewish educators, volunteering with populations in need and designing your Jewish life with a community of peers.

How many days a week?
Five, Monday through Friday
Programming will take place at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, California. Participants will live at home.
Who is it for?
High school graduates who live in the Bay Area

What does the fee include?
Programming (in-person and virtual), volunteering, tours, lunch and snacks (depending on Santa Clara County health guidance).

What is a typical day like?
Each day will combine local volunteering, Jewish learning and group social activities. Classes will take place virtually or at the OFJCC; volunteer placements are tailored to the participant's interests.

Who's on the program staff? LEAP is facilitated by OFJCC educators who specialize in group activities and community building. All classes on LEAP are taught by OFJCC/BINA teachers who believe in Jewish learning that is serious, open-minded and relevant. LEAP participants will also have access to virtual educational experiences led by local Bay Area educators, and American and Israeli Jewish leaders.
