Movie Screenings: Won't You Be My Neighbor?

We will be holding free screenings of the award-winning documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? on several days during February (starting Sunday, February 3) at the OFJCC, where we can learn to be a better neighbor this year, thus creating a space for conversation, reflection and building connections between people. If you are unable to make the scheduled screenings at the OFJCC, check your local PBS brought to you by KQED, on February 9 to watch it at your convenience.

Film Synopsis: In Won't You Be My Neighbor?, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville looks back on the legacy of Fred Rogers, focusing on his radically kind ideas. While the nation changed around him, Fred Rogers stood firm in his beliefs about the importance of protecting childhood. Neville pays tribute to this legacy with the latest in this highly engaging, moving documentary portrait of an essential American artist.

    Warm Drive
In the spirit of Mister Rogers, we will also be holding a "Warm Drive" throughout February by collecting sweaters, jackets and fuzzy blankets to donate to the fire victims in California through our friends at IsraAid. You may drop them off in the designated bin at the Richard & Rhoda Goldman Sports & Wellness Complex or at the bins located in front of the Leslie Family Early Childhood Education Center.

    Make No-Sew Blankets and Scarves
The OFJCC will also host several "Make No-Sew Blankets and Scarves" events to donate to those in need this winter. We look forward to serving with you!

    Host an Event
Would you also like to host your own Won't You Be My Neighbor movie night? Please let us know; we would be happy to offer suggestions and help make this happen.
