A free strength/fitness program for cancer patients and survivors
This small group training program is designed for adult cancer survivors who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease.
Our goal is to help survivors build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Additional goals include reducing the severity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weight changes, improving energy levels and self-esteem. A final goal of the program is to assist in developing a physical fitness program that can be practiced regularly for lifelong health.
Certified Personal Trainers are trained in coaching fitness for cancer survivors by Stanford and EXOS. They will give individualized instruction to participants in a fun group setting. The instructors are trained in the elements of cancer, post-rehab exercise, nutrition and supportive cancer care.
