Persimmon season begins next week! Don't know much about persimmons? They're our most abundant fall fruit, and the two main kinds are delicious and very different. Learn more with your family at this great program.

Village Harvest is a nonprofit volunteer organization in Northern California whose mission is to provide food for the hungry, preserve our heritage and skills and promote sustainable use of urban resources. The organization organizes and coordinates backyard fruit harvesting and provides education on fruit tree care, harvesting and food preservation.

Village Harvests works closely with food agencies and community groups throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Bring your friends and sign up to be a part of this great program: community fruit harvesting for homes in Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills.

Meeting place willbe provided to confirmed volunteers a few days prior to the event. Volunteers will drive between four homes in the morning and must provide their own transportation.
