OFJCC Palo Alto JCCEver wonder how Israel became a leader in alternative water sources and solutions? Over the past half century, Israel's innovative water management techniques have helped boost the Israeli economy, advanced Israeli agriculture and even helped broker international peace deals. Jewish National Fund USA has been a part of this effort for decades. Join this interesting lecture by Oren Hefetz and hear about the great achievements we all should be proud of.

Major (res.) Oren Hefetz was drafted to the IDF at the age of 18 and served as a helicopter pilot for more than 20 years, filling various positions in the Israeli Air Force. While deputy commander of Palmachim Air Force Base, Oren adopted a program called Special In Uniform, which helps young Israelis with special needs volunteer and draft to the IDF, allowing them to serve with their peers. Oren joined Jewish National Fund as the Israeli Emissary in Northern California and moved with his family to Sunnyvale at the beginning of 2020.

Attendance is free but requires pre-registration.

Senior Programs are made possible in part by generous contributions from the John R. Schwabacher Family, Diane and Jon Claerbout in memory of their beloved son Jos, as well as the Jewish Community Federation & Endowment Fund. We are grateful for their generous support.
