Enjoy a guided live virtual tour and explore the story of 19th century Jewish immigrant Levi Strauss, including his journey from Bavaria to California, the establishment of Levi Strauss & Co., the history of gold rush–era San Francisco, and the popularization of blue jeans into the 21st century. This exhibit is currently on view at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
Our guide is Ron Glait. He was born in Israel and moved to California almost three years ago. He holds an M.Ed. in visual literacy and museum studies from the Kibbutzim College of Education (Tel Aviv, Israel) where he graduated with honors in 2017.
Ron's professional experience includes teaching, developing and executing training programs alongside administrative and managerial duties. In September 2018, he started working as an educator at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, where he can share his love of art and deep knowledge of Jewish culture with the public. In March 2019, he became a full-time employee of the museum and assumed the tour coordinator position in addition to his work as an educator.
