OFJCC Palo Alto JCC A meaningful alternative to the traditional American baby shower, Cocoon is a modern ritual designed to honor the important lifecycle journey and rite of passage that is pregnancy. Borrowing inspiration from across cultures East and West and infused with age-old Jewish wisdom, Cocoon offers expecting couples a way to prepare spiritually and emotionally for the journey ahead.

This all-inclusive, two-night weekend retreat is set among the stunning redwoods of the Monte Toyon resort on California's central coast. Enjoy activities that range from meditative breathing exercises to nature walks, Jewish inspiration and an entire ritual dedicated to you and your pregnancy journey past, present and future. There will also be dedicated activity options for the non-pregnant partner. Bring in the Jewish Sabbath together and create a space for mindfulness and restoration.

This program is open to all members of the community, regardless of religious background. The program cost includes all lodging, food and activities. A limited number of spaces are available.
