14th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Day of Service

    When: Monday, 1/18/2021

    Where: OFJCC, Campus-wide, multiple locations

“Everybody Can Be Great, Because Anybody Can Serve” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“A community is too heavy for anyone to carry alone.” ~ Based on Deuteronomy 1:9

Thank you to all those who participated in the 13th Annual Mitzvah Day of Community Service at the Oshman Family JCC to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Your participation made a huge impact on the community. We had 1000 volunteers of all ages, over 30 projects and over 3000 hours of service.

Here are some of the great things we did:

    • 1200 brown bag lunches and 150 dinners for homeless
    • 100 care packages for soldiers and 400 care packages for seniors
    • We made treats, beds and hundreds of toys for animals at the animal shelters

If you would like to participate in hands-on volunteer opportunities throughout the year, please take a look at the on-going offerings of our Center for Social Impact.

We thank you for your service and look forward to serving with you next year on Monday, January 18, 2021!
