Mobilizing a fast response to acute needs in the wake of natural disasters is critical to recovery.
The Center for Social Impact connects people who want to participate in relief efforts with opportunities to do so, both near and far. When Hurricane Harvey caused unprecedented and catastrophic flooding in southeastern Texas, the OFJCC led Hanukkah for Hurricane Relief, a cohort of South Peninsula volunteers traveling to Texas to help clean and rebuild areas devastated by the hurricane.
