    2016 Winter Camps

     

     At J-Camp, we provide fun and exciting adventures that will keep your child busy while having loads of fun under the supervision of qualified, caring J-Camp staff. Campers participate in daily highlight activities, games, sports, arts and crafts, skits, songs and more.

    We offer a great camper-to-staff ratio: Kindergarten (1:6) | Grades 1-3 (1:8) | Grades 4-8 (1:10). During the school year ratios are 1:10 for all ages.

    Register for school break camp by the day or sign up for the entire week at a discounted price.

    What to Bring: Non-perishable lunch and morning snack.

    Camp Descriptions

    Ski Week Mini Camp, Tuesday–Friday, February 21–24 (No camp Monday, February 20)
    During Ski Week, campers will enjoy non-stop fun with experienced J-Camp staff. Campers will have a blast during their vacation with friendly bugs, giant hamster balls and a pajama party. On Wednesday, campers will enjoy a field trip to California Academy of Sciences. They will also participate in our traditional activities such as songs, games and arts and crafts.

    Tuesday February 21: Buggin’ Out (Savenature.org)
    Explore the fantastic lives of beetles, millipedes, tarantulas, walking sticks, whip scorpions and more! Savenature.org will bring their hands-on Insect Discovery Lab to camp. Their presenters will introduce your camper to the extraordinarily diverse world of insects and other arthropods and teach them about their key role in the web of life. Scientific observation, insect identification and the natural history of bugs’ lives are just some of the areas they focus on.

    Wednesday February 22: California Academy of Sciences (Field Trip)
    Campers will travel to San Francisco and visit the California Academy of Sciences. There, they will see and hear about the most recent discoveries of planets and far-away galaxies in the Morrison Planetarium. Campers will also get a chance to see one of the most diverse aquariums in the world, the Steinhart Aquarium.

    Thursday, February 23: Game Mania (Games2U)
    Games2U will take your camper where no games have gone before with unique, interactive mobile entertainment. This includes their Video Game Theater, laser tag and life-size hamster balls.

    Friday, February 24: Pajama Party
    Come in your PJs and join us for some fun! J-Camp will transport us to a special "night time" party place where the staff will lead fun-filled slumber party-themed games and crafts! They will end their day with age-appropriate movies and popcorn.


    Spring Break Camp Week 1: Monday–Friday, April 3–7
    During week 1 of Spring Break camp, campers will enjoy themed camp days from bugs, games, a field trip on Wednesday and a field day on Friday at Mitchell Park.

     

    Highlight Activities (subject to change):

    Monday, April 3: STEAM Day
    Campers will immerse themselves in a day full of fun STEAM-related activities such as Wigglebots, building bridges to hold 21 elephants, Math in Art, creating musical instruments and more!

    Tuesday, April 4: Bugs and More! (Savenature.org)

    Thursday, April 6: Heroes, Villains and More!
    Campers have a chance to come to camp as their favorite hero to save the day—or villain who tries to take over! The day will be filled with different adventures from popular books and movies.

    Friday, April 7: Best of J-Camp
    Campers get to experience all of their J-Camp favorite activities, including Gaga, field games at Mitchell Park, songs, games, learning Jewish values and arts and crafts!  

    Spring Break Camp Week 2: April 10-14, 2017
    During week 2 of Spring Break camp, campers will enjoy an entertaining week of games, LEGOs and a pajama party. On Wednesday campers will travel to Golfland and on Friday enjoy a field day at Mitchell Park. Campers will also participate in our traditional activities such as songs, games and arts and crafts.

    Highlight Activities (subject to change):

    Monday April 10: Game On
    Campers will get to play life-sized games of their favorite board games such as checkers, Jenga, Candyland, Hungry Hungry Hippo and more.

    Tuesday April 11: Space the final FUN-tier (Play-Well TEKnologies)
    Learn the secrets of flight in Aerospace FUNdamentals! Study the work of the masters, then build a LEGO® model of the largest rocket in history and design your own Mars Rover. Explore the history of flight, from Icarus to Da Vinci to the Wright Brothers to NASA. Come discover how birds, stealth fighters, blimps and rockets all use the same FUNdamental concepts to actually fly!

    Wednesday April 12: Golfland (Field Trip)

    Campers will travel to Golfland in Milpitas where they will have a blast playing unlimited laser tag and mini golf.

    Thursday April 13: Drive-Ins at the J

    Come in your PJs and join us for some fun! J-Camp will transport us to a special "night time" Drive-in day at the J where campers will have fun playing outdoor games and end the day with popcorn and an age-appropriate movie.

    Friday April 14: Field Games

    Campers will have a blast spending the day playing sports with our experienced staff at Mitchell Park. Campers will be separated by age for fun-filled sports and outdoor activities.
