Community Mitzvah Day:
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
 

We have had tremendous response to this year's Mitzvah Day. Over 750 individuals registered for the event, and nearly all of our 28 projects are full!

By now you should have received a confirmation of your assigned project.

Please review the confirmation e-mail carefully as you will need the project-specific information it contains.

If you have not received your project assignment, please e-mail Luba Palant at lpalant@paloaltojcc.org.

Some reminders:

We are asking each participant to please bring a non-perishable food item for the Second Harvest Food Bank drive.
If you are no longer able to participate, please e-mail Luba Palant at lpalant@paloaltojcc.org as soon as possible so we can offer a volunteer slot to a new participant.
For outdoor projects: If there is heavy rain & the project has to be cancelled, we will e-mail you on the morning of the event.

Looking to Participate?
Limited volunteer spaces are available in the following projects:
Serve a Meal at St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room 
For: 16 years and older
Time: 8:30 AM-1:30 PM
Location: Menlo Park
St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room serves low income families, elderly people and homeless individuals. Volunteers bring an added energy and zeal to the dining room while preparing and serving meals.
Sort Food Items at Second Harvest Food Bank 
For: 15 years and older
Time: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
Location: San Jose/ San Carlos
Help sort food at one of the Second Harvest warehouses. Volunteers will inspect and categorize donated food products, label food packages and repackage food items donated by individuals and food companies. Training is provided at the beginning of each shift.
Build Day with Habitat for Humanity
For: 16 + and Adults
Time: 8:30 AM-4:15 PM
Location: Daly City
Habitat for humanity builds quality affordable ownership housing through volunteer efforts in long- term partnership with qualified families. Over 300 people have been impacted by Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley through 25 years of building affordable homes. You are invited to participate in a regular build day. We welcome volunteers of ALL skill levels and we provide the training that you need!
