The guitar, keyboard, saxophone, bass, and drums ensemble combine to set a tone of engaging jazz that has been popular across the Bay Area.

The Herd of Cats has been playing together for the past 15 years and was formed by Lowell Moulton (guitar), Phil Hirshberg (sax) and Gary Wohl (piano) after they met while attending Stanford Jazz Workshop.

Through the years, there have been several other members in the rhythm section; currently Ricky Takahashi (drums) and Alex Fitz (bass) fill out the combo. The current band has been playing together for about year.
