Reception: "Memories from Syria" Art Exhibit

by Avraham Shemi-Shoham
Memories from Syria was created from memories of the artist’s childhood in the town of Halab (also known as Aleppo) in Syria. Using antique wood and vivid colors, Avraham depicts traditions, celebrations and daily life in the town of Haleb, a community that now flourishes in Israel and the diaspora.

Avraham Shemi-Shoham was born in Aleppo, Syria and immigrated to Israel in 1960. He is a member of the Artists and Sculptors Association in Israel, and since 1996, has also served as Chairman of the Artists and Sculptors Association in Bat Yam.
