Dmitry Sitkovetsky has built up an active and successful career as a violinist, conductor, arranger, chamber musician & festival director. He has performed as a soloist with a number of the world’s leading orchestras including the Berlin, New York and LA Philharmonic Orchestras and has performed at a number of high-profile festivals including Salzburg, Lucerne, Edinburgh, Verbier, Istanbul, Newport, Festival del Sole (Napa Valley) and the IMG Tuscan Sun Festival. In 2003, he was appointed Music Director of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, a position he currently holds with great success. Dmitry Sitkovetsky is a son of violinist Julian Sitkovetsky and pianist Bella Davidovich. He studied at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory as well as the Juilliard School.Known the world over as one of the greatest living pianists for his poetic, profound and stirring interpretations, Konstantin Lifschitz has been performing for audiences since the age of nine. He has performed in more than 30 countries and with more than 50 orchestras. In 1995 Lifschitz received an Echo Klassik Award as “European Young Artist of the Year” and in 1996 his recording of the Goldberg Variations was nominated for a Grammy Award. Upon the release of the album, the critic Edward Rothstein of The New York Times wrote that it was "the most powerful pianistic interpretation since Gould." |
