| The perfect compliment to an active yoga practice or lifestyle. Yin Yoga focuses on holding passive postures anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes allowing the stretching to go beyond the muscular tissue stretched in a typical yoga class by targeting the fascia, ligaments, joints, and even the bones in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Relaxing but not easy, you will leave Yin Yoga feeling much more flexible than after other yoga classes. In this 2 hour workshop we will follow the deep practice with an introduction to mindfulness meditation technique - a 20 minute practice. Suitable for most levels; previous yoga experience recommended. Postures can be modified using props. Bring your yoga mat and water. Courtesy blocks, blankets and bolsters available to assist participants. Dina Prioste has been teaching yoga since 2004 holds certifications in Therapeutic & Pre/Post Natal Yoga. |
